Wireless Internet


In the Summer of 2006 we began to install wireless Internet in Casa Xelajú. We have three networks running within the building: one in the office, one on the third floor and one grand antenna on top of the Mirador. Not only is there wireless internet connection in the entire building, but some host families living in close proximity to Casa Xelajú will have access to our networks as well. Thus those students living in this proximity of the school and that have wireless adapters* on their laptops will be able to tap into our system from the comforts of home.

Now it will be easier than ever to do your research, chat online, and check email, even when the school is closed. Simply bring in your laptop with wireless card to the office and we can give you the password and get everything set up for you.

 

*The distance of the signal depends greatly on the strength of your wireless card and cannot be guaranteed. Also, the availability of host families is an important factor, especially during summer months. Click here to see what wireless card we recommend.
