Students study 5 hours a day, 5 days a week in small groups (maximum 3:1 student-teacher ratio). The classes focus on medical terminology, patient conversations, emergency instructions, and healthcare vocabulary.
To complement the classroom learning, students visit:

Community health outreach centers
These visits offer both formal and informal interactions with Guatemalan healthcare professionals, allowing students to practice and refine their skills in real-world settings.
Participants stay with Guatemalan host families, which enhances language fluency through daily conversation. Outside of class, the program includes:
Cultural tours and weekend excursions
Visits to Lake Atitlán, Antigua, and Mayan ruins
Traditional markets, weaving workshops, and hot springs
